I'm sorry but how many different animals were used as spectacles or traps for Bond? Bond literally tells a wild tiger to sit down, and it listens. I also felt they took the setting of India and abused it a bit. I'm just very tired of the use of nuclear weapon's for the lead villain. Bringing the stories to a more realistic focus would have been compelling for this film. It seemed as though the plot was going to shift the motivations of the lead villain from craving world domination down to simply a jewel thief. There's a lot of entertainment to be had with this film, but sadly I felt a ton of opportunities were wasted. Of course, I wrote in my For Your Eyes Only review that I appreciated the tongue and cheek being toned down a bit, only to be overwhelmed with goofiness with Osctopussy. Some amped-up action sequences might keep you invested but the only truly exciting component of this flick is its title.

Two decades and several white hairs on, Bond comes full circle with his camp leanings by becoming a cheap carnival ride, boasting only one series hallmark with a slight - very slight - of hand making the duplicitous Octopussy seem like the big bad. In this PG-rated spy adventure, a fake Fabergé egg and a fellow agent's death lead James Bond (Moore) to uncover an international jewel-smuggling operation, headed by the mysterious Octopussy (Adams), being used to disguise a nuclear attack on N.A.T.O. Seeing 007 dressed up as a clown pretty much sums up how silly, diluted, and unexciting this series had become when compared to the intoxicating high bar set during the swinging '60s. Showing his age and literally running away with the circus, Roger Moore stars in this pedestrian Bond adventure where the title proves the most thrilling component.
